I ve stayed at this hotel more than half a dozen times or so now: I ve stayed at few others while in Bangkok, but for this price range, I haven t found any better ones. Location is fairly close to the airport, but if your shopping for Thai jewelry, it s far from Silom district. For me it s convenient because, usually my itinery calls for stay in Bangkok upon arrival and departure only. The staff is professional, most speak English and are helpful. Rooms are average size, chair and tables are nice but TV cabinet is rather gaudy looking. Bathrooms are all marble, include hair dryer and towel sets include hand towels, which is not always the case in Thailand. Breakfast included but bacons are half cooked which seems to be the case with all hotels in Thailand. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to a friend without hesitation, especially if he s on a budget. |

We stayed at the Chaophya Park Hotel in late June. The hotel was on the busy Ratchadapisek Rd. The hotel lobby looked very Thai traditional with some contemporary flare. The marble reception area was very inviting. The staff at the hotel spoke limited english including the on-duty managers, but they were all very willing to assist in any way possible. We got a Deluxe room that offered excellent value for your money. The room had many amenities including comfortable pillows, comfy single sofa, minibar, and TV with DVD player. The bathroom was spacious with separate shower and tub. The bathroom was also very big too. The hotel offered in-room high speed internet access at 500bts/24 hour. The pool area is a standard pool hotel and offered several pool chairs and bar services. Breakfast in the morning was at the hotel cafe. The breakfast set is one of the better breakfast sets I have seen in Bangkok. There are over 50 selections and include continental fare, chinese fare, and traditional thai fare. The breakfast also includes two stations that offer cook-to-order food including omelettes, eggs any style, skillets, and thai breakfast items. The hotel has a shopping arcade in the basement but seems to be closed because of the lack of foot-traffic. Since the hotel is not in the most tourist-connected area, you must either take a taxi subway to the shopping areas of Sukhumvit. The Ratchadapisek Station is about 500-600 feet (5-minute walk) from the driveway entrance to the hotel. From there, it is 6 stops to Asok Station (about 25bts) where you can transfer to the BTS Skytrain Service. Please be aware that the subway system and the BTS Skytrain system are on two different ticketing system, so therefore buying day passes on one would not get you on the other. Taxi to Sukhumvit/Siam Area is about 150bts including toll. The hotel is extremely close to the Chatuchak Weekend Market, only 3 stops away. This is a must see and one day is not enough. In the end, the hotel is good for the price and the amenities. |
